Newsletter/New Website
First, we want to say sorry for the lateness of this newsletter. We wanted to try and go paperless and have been putting out a survey to get the current information for residents and their email addresses. Over the past month, two copies of a survey (one in mail and one in door) were distributed; we have received about 80 updated surveys back. So we still need over 100 surveys back. Please, help us help you, by sending in the survey or, better yet, go to the new website and registering (more on that below).
This will be the last paper newsletter for those with email. We want to save money and time by sending out newsletters by email and updating the website. If you don’t have email, don’t worry as we still plan on 1-2 paper newsletters per year. On the other hand, we hope to send out several email updates throughout the year. So, if you don’t have email, maybe you can provide a family member, friend or neighbor that does and they can print the updates and give them to you.
We have a new Website!!! Go to www.laketyrone.com and check it out. There is a new look, but more importantly we are using a web management system that will let us update the site faster and easier than before. We now have a registered user section on the site, for residents ONLY. You must REGISTER if you want to use the resident section of the site. This is where all the good information will be. So go to the site and register today!!!
We plan on putting timely copies of the board minutes on the site. Announce any upcoming meetings. Post news related to the lake or our community. Provide a online directory (you must register). Post stories written by your neighbors about the lake and/or themselves. Information about upcoming lake events. Residents will also be able to upload pictures directly to the site so we can all enjoy them. If you want to help, let us know. We can always use more help.
Need your help on Dam Maintenance – Oct 14
We need volunteers to help with the cleaning of the trees and brush that has grown on the back side of the damn over the past 7 years. We have to do this maintenance as required by our recent dam inspection late this summer. We need people to help cut down the trees, clear the smaller bushes and brush and clear the stumps so that we can keep the area clear with a brush hog going forward. We need people that can do physical work, but it shouldn’t be hard work. We will have a chipper available, if you need wood chips, just ask and be ready to remove that day (you will have HELP). No debris can be left on site. Volunteers will have first dibbs.
- Where: At the Dam
- When: Sunday, Oct 14 at 11am
- Who: All residents welcome. This will be moderate physical work. Kids should be 14 or older.
- Clothing: Layered (long pants and long sleeved shirts), Safety glasses, gloves and work boots, if you have them.
- Tools needed: Chain saws, manual tree trimming saws, limb cutters (loppers), weed-eaters, rakes, shovels and anything else you think we might need. Bring what you have, everything will be used.
- Label your tools, so nothing gets lost.
New Residents
If you are a new resident on the lake please contact a board member so we can make sure we have all your correct information. You can also just register on the website.
We want to welcome the following people that have moved on the lake over the past year. We know there are more of you so please let us know.
- On Mabley Hill we have Daniel & Pamela Flores, Robert & Karen Maniez, Paul Lipon
- On Bullard we have Brian Nickerson, Check & Brenda Hasse, Richard & Constance Fetner, Jim Conway
Lake Dues
